College Fair Prep workshop by EEE at the Austin Y (100 BMC Westside)

Students and parents were walked through the process of preparing for the college fair, covering: resumes, interviewing, high school transcripts, proper attire, recommendation letters, financial aid, and ACT scores. Approximately 40 high school students and 15 parents from - Voise Academy, Michele Clark, Austin Polytechnical Academy, Provident St. Mel, and Oak Park River Forest, among others. Students were awarded movie tickets and Subway gift cards for participation and answering questions correctly.

State Farm's Larry Williams presented two workshops. For parents: ways to invest and save to finance their children's education. For students: strategies to budget their money while they are in college and avoid entering the workforce burdened with debt.
