We’re back and fresh off the trip to the 26th Annual National Conference in Atlanta , June 13th-17th. All who represented the Chicago Chapter enjoyed our time, got the opportunity to network and learn from other Chapters from across the country. Mentors and Mentees alike participated in outstanding workshops, with topics, ranging from education, to mentoring best practices, to bullying.
Our young men who attended, were Gregory Loston, Jared Brown, Dennis Bell, Cyrus Goines, Bryant McGee and Bryant Harwell - the last three of which participated in the State Farm Dollars and $ense competition. The boys represented us well, finishing 4th out of 18 chapters, and they were rewarded with gift cards and schools supplies.

Warren McElroy and John Anderson served as chaperones, keeping the mentees in line as they navigated through workshops, outings, concerts and parties. Celebrities Mindless Behavior, Diggy Simmons, Jacob Latimore and the OMG Girlz graced the youth with their presence, while the grown-ups, enjoyed Wayne Brady and Boyz II Men, and Midnight Starr and the Conference Gala and Post-Conference Party, respectively.
The fullChicago contingent also included members, Craig Gilmore, John Kendall, Malik Nevels, Jeff Jackson, Jourdan Sorrell, and Eliot Mosby.
Special Notes: Congratulations to Jeff Jackson for being re-elected as Member At-Large. Unfortunately, John Kendall was not victorious in a tight race for VP-Operations position. In no way, though, does that diminish the positive impact he has made in our chapter and nationally for the past 18 years, and we are VERY proud.
