This year’s Heritage bowl was hosted by Brian Coleman at Chicago State University. Contestants from Hales Franciscan High School: Ryan Greenlaw and LeJohn Montgomery coached by Useni Perkins were defeated by contestants from Gwendolyn Brooks High School: Denise Ford-El and Daniel Velasco coached by Hubert Jackson. Our coaching consultants Barb Christopher and Diane Bukovsky were also in attendance. The performance of the Gwendolyn Brooks team makes the 100 Black Men of Chicago a very, very, very strong contender for winning at nationals in New York, is betting allowed?
